El Nutri Taco (http://www.elnutritaco.net/) should make the list...while their restaurant is on Woodstock somewhere, what's really exciting for those in Northeast, is they have a cart around 22nd where the old laundromat used to be. They have a great selection of vegan Mexican food, much like Los Gorditos!

Dovetail gets my vote. Everything is just incredible there. My favorites were always the scones...until I became gluten intolerant. I mourn the loss of my weekly fix. I have found a few items at Back to Eden that were quite good, but some were real duds (stale). I've had cakes from Sweetpea but the last one we got was over-iced and had no flavor. I always went to Black Sheep or Sweetpea for cakes before I discovered Dovetail but none of them compared after trying their range of offerings. Since I can't do gluten any more, I just have to watch other people enjoy the great eats.

Someone should review Tula's gluten-free bakery on the corner of NE Martin Luther King and Alberta. My husband is vegan and I am gluten-intolerant. Everything is marked as to whether or not it has eggs or dairy in it and most items do not. This is an excellent bakery for gluten-free folks! They also serve pizza, salads and soups for lunch. I'm hooked.

My husband and I have gone there twice. The staff are super nice to newbie vegans (that's my hubby--I was already ovo lacto veg since 1995). We bought Chef Tanya's cook book and I made a few things at home. I love their Native Cheez. :) I had one of the veggie wraps with a side salad and it was yummy and filling. My hubby had the Ghandi Bowl, and I think he had something different our second visit. I LOVE their Ranch dressing!! :) The lavender lemonade is fantastic. The area is nice, clean, and people are friendly and not scary at all. I look forward to a location closer to Vancouver, because we drive over the border to eat out now and then. :)

Good For That Waitress!
Sounds like you put down $2 on a $30 bill (if the $6 tip would've been a 20% tip) . Any waitstaff would be pissed! AND there are signs up about the credit card fee. AND I split the bill all the time and assume that it's a pain in the ass for the waitstaff (especially with a group of people), so I tip accordingly.

I think her getting paid a fair wage for waiting on your table is worth more than your embarrassment in front of your friends for only tipping her $2.
